Google reveals it for the first time
For the first time in Monday, Google set out Youtube and Cloud statistics.
In fiscal 2019, youTube ads generated revenues of 15.15 billion dollars compared to the 2018 figure of 11.16 billion dollars. Google’s cloud sector generated revenue of $8.92 billion in 2019, relative to $5.84 billion in 2018. CEO Sundar Pichai’s first earnings announcement pushes Google’s parent company, Alphabet, to push towards greater transparency.
The parent company of Google, Alphabet, also reported the advertising revenue of YouTube, and according the annual earnings report of Alphabet, this is a whopping 15 billion dollars. That figure represents less than 10% of the total 2019 revenues of Alphabet.
Google announced that ad revenue in YouTube increased from $3.6 billion over the last quarter of 2018 to $4.7 billion over the last quarter of 2019. From 2017 to 2019, it almost doubled from $8.1 billion in 2017 to $11.1 billion in 2018 and ultimately to $15.1 billion in 2019.

In its 4th quarter of 2019 profit update Monday, Google split figures for its YouTube and cloud services. However, the information available was limited and the profits of these companies was difficult to measure. For the first time, Alphabet revealed YouTube’s advertising revenue, which, according to Alphabet’s report, is a cool $15 billion. In 2019, this amount is only fewer than 10% of the total revenues of Google.
This announcement marks the first time that the company has revealed how much money YouTube-hosted ads contribute to the search giant’s fund in almost 15 years since Google bought the siten for $1.75 billion in 2006.

Google reports that Youtube offers over 20 million Premium and Music Premium subscribers, as well as over 2 million paid TV subscribers throughout its premium (ad-free YouTube) and music services.
The revenue generated by Alphabet is divided into the “other” category that last year made $5.3 billion, including hardware such as Pixel and Google Home speakers.
In the quarter ended December 31st, 2019, Alphabet earned $46 billion in revenues, which jumped 17 percent over 2018. The company says that almost $10.7 billion was profit.

YouTube did not answer immediately, but the new, huge number comes with several major platform changes related to the advertisement. The website expanded its unstoppable advertising services in 2019. Youtube revealed in August 2018 that this tool would “expand,” which was previously only made available to qualifying writers.
